Smarts, the award-winning global PR and content agency, has doubled the size of its London office with a raft of new appointments, including Director Becky Rawlings and Communications Director Katie Tazzyman.
The hires come following a number of significant new business wins at Smarts, with BSH UK & Ireland (Bosch, Neff, Siemens and Gaggenau), WRAP and Defra all appointing the agency to new projects in recent months.
Rawlings joins Smarts from Accenture’s Karmarama, where she oversaw the agency’s PR and Social team. Prior to that she was a Business Director at Kaper and a Senior Account Director at Mischief. At Smarts, Rawlings will be responsible for delivering strategic and creative campaigns for a range of private and public sector clients, whilst also working with the leadership team to help accelerate further growth.
Tazzyman joins Smarts from Steely Fox, where she was Head of Operations. During her time at Steely Fox she managed UK and global communications for a number of spirits brands, including Hendrick’s Gin, Jose Cuervo Tequila and Beefeater Gin.
Tazzyman will help to build strategic campaigns for a range of Smarts clients, leading and inspiring the teams to deliver exceptional work.
Both Rawlings and Tazzyman will report directly to Helen Rainford, Managing Partner in Smarts’ London office.
In addition to its two new directors, Smarts’ London office has bolstered its team with three further hires.
Winsome Wild arrives as a Communications Manager, having previously been the Senior Press Officer at the Royals Collection Trust. Jessica Parry joins the agency from Inkling Culture & Entertainment, whilst Millie Wright joins as a Communications Executive from Davies + Scothorn.
Rainford says: “Smarts is evolving quickly and we’re delighted to bring such talented people on board to help us build further. We’re on an exciting journey, working with some fantastic brands, and it’s important that we retain our culture and creative spirit to continue the success that has allowed us to grow in the first place.
Pippa Arlow, the Global Chief Executive of Smarts Communicate, says: “Smarts has always been about helping brands tell great stories, and the growth of our London team is a brilliant story of its own. Its development is testament to the hard work that Helen and the team have put in and I’m delighted we’ve got a new group of people excited to join the family.”
