We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Malcolm Boxall to lead our media investment and expand our buying capability.
Boxall was previously the Chief Investment Officer of Blue 449 and Spark Foundry, the media agencies owned by Publicis Groupe, managing both the performance and investment functions.
He will join us in the New Year, one of a number of new arrivals that the we’ll welcome following the investment received from private equity firm LDC in May 2019.
We’ve invested heavily in our media capabilities following the LDC deal. Charles Courtier, the former Chief Executive of MEC, joined in May as Chairman, whilst in October we backed Walk-In Media, the independent agency run by former Blue 449 CEO Simon Davis.
Boxall has had two spells at Blue 449. He initially joined in 2002 as Group Account Director, but left in 2011 to become Client Services Director of Harvest Digital.
He rejoined Blue 449 in 2013 as Head of Screen, before being promoted to Head of Investment in March 2015 and Chief Investment Officer in September 2017.
He has also spent time at Future Publishing, The Allmond Partnership after 8+ years at ITV.
Peter Reid, the Chief Executive of MSQ Partners, said: “There are huge opportunities for groups like MSQ in the media space, and welcoming somebody like Malcolm, who has huge experience in planning, buying and digital media performance, will be a great asset to the business going forward,
Boxall said: “MSQ provides the connected, joined-up communications that can help ambitious clients of a certain size truly thrive. I’m delighted to join at such a pivotal time.”
