MSQ agencies get creative to encourage charitable giving this Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Well, it’s beginning to look a lot like whatever Christmas is allowed to look like this year.

And with Christmas being a time for giving, some of our agencies have decided to do their part to raise some much-needed funds for some very important charities.

They’ve got their creative juices flowing and devised some clever fundraising tactics which we hope will engage, inspire or soothe you over the festive break – and perhaps convince you to donate a little bit too…

16 Minutes of Rest This Christmas

First up we have an instrumental masterpiece from Smarts, helping people find a little moment of peace this Christmas with a 16-minute instrumental track to help soothe the soul.

The agency has teamed up with Jules Maxwell and Stevie J Jones – the music maestros known for collaborating with the likes of Brian Eno, Imogen Heap and Dead Can Dance – to create something truly unique.

The track, called ‘Sixteen Minutes At Rest This Season’ is based on the chord structure of Silent Night, deconstructed, abstracted and stretched out over 16mins 34 seconds – the average length of time it takes someone to fall asleep for their own silent night.

‘Sixteen Minutes At Rest This Season’ can be streamed here (as well as on all your other favourite streaming platforms) with all proceeds going to Samaritans to support their work with those affected by stress, anxiety and other mental health issues.

The Gate’s Holiday Gift Shop

The Gate New York has created a holiday gift shop, where everyone at the agency (and some vendors) have donated gifts that people can buy.

From professional head shots to Warby Parker sunglasses, Wagamama gift cards to photos of sporting legends, there are some amazing pieces on offer, with 100% of the money going to City Clean Up Corps.

Share the dough

At a time of such indulgence, it’s horrifying to know that 1 in 5 children will go hungry over the holiday period. That’s why Stein IAS is supporting the Message Community Grocery and MEND Hunger Relief Network to help relieve childhood hunger this holiday season.
